Videos that evoke an important theme through high-impact footage.
A short story that pursues a single theme.
Short documentaries that convey today's world primarily through news media.

Today, we have more and more opportunities to see short documentaries made in a diverse range of styles and using a variety of different media. So much so that short story documentaries are becoming a vital part of our everyday lives.

That's why Tokyo Docs is calling for finished short documentary film submissions for the Short Documentary Showcase 2019 event (see application details below).

Selected entries will not only be shown during the Tokyo Docs event, but the films' directors will also be able to take the podium and tell domestic and international decision makers from broadcasting and other media about their film entry and their own aspirations. This is a great opportunity to further develop your documentary filmmaking.
